Random Post

Life has been so busy lately. I've been working and going to classes. I'm going to be so bored in a few weeks when classes are done. That won't last long though. The regular semester will begin only a couple of weeks after that. I'm taking 19 credit hours this fall. While I know it's going to be difficult and busy, even stressful at times, I'm really looking forward to the challenge of it. I'm really excited about it. The thought of graduating in May is really motivating.

It has taken me many years to get to this point and to truly be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel is relieving. I have given up on my dreams of completing college before. I never tried to find a way to finish then. I would fight hard to complete this time. I am fighting hard. But it's bittersweet. I really wish my dad could be here to see me graduate, to be part of something I have worked hard to achieve. He would be so proud of me for not giving up, for doing everything necessary to get my degree.

I really miss my dad. I miss his direction and wisdom, though I never really thought about him being wise. It was always just him. I think the way he lived his life, he learned a lot of lessons so that he could pass along a bit of advice on what to do and not do. Although sometimes I think some of his advice was a bit faulty, I know he meant well.

Lately I've been listening to quite a bit of country music. My dad always listened to that. I'm finding that I enjoy the softer songs from the genre. The less honky tonk the better. =) And I have the BIGGEST crush on John Rich. That man is delicious, a bit arrogant, but still quite lovely. (I added a Big and Rich video at the end of this post. I hope to have a day like this with my man soon.) I noticed last week that his eyes are a lot like my dad's were. That was a little weird, but oh well.

So yeah I watch Nashville Star. I love talent type shows.
Except for the auditions and when the final 10-15 contestants are left, I'm not too into American Idol. My favorites on Nashville Star this season are Gabe Garcia and Melissa. I'd like to see either of them win it. When Laura and Sophie were sent packing this week, I was so glad. They were annoying, especially the way they dressed alike. Their routines seemed like they were playing in their backyard singing to an imaginary audience.
